Linda Green - Head Trainer

Linda’s parents had no idea that, at ten years of age, her request to take one riding lesson would lead to a 40 year career that would span two continents, hundreds of clients and thousands of hours spent training horses.

Linda started her riding career under the guidance of Donny Simington at Onondarka Riding Club.  Donny must have seen the making of a trainer, because six years after her first riding lesson Donny hired Linda to give lessons at Onondarka.

It was as a junior rider that Linda developed her strong work ethic.  In addition to being an honor student, riding and teaching at Onondarka, Linda paid for horse shows by working as a braider at the shows.

After a successful career as a junior rider, Linda was accepted and attended the University of California at Irvine, where she majored in Computer Science and minored in Physics.  She passed up many offers to join the corporate world and followed her heart back to  Onondarka as an instructor and trainer.  Linda’s ability to develop her clients’ skills, knowledge and love of the sport is exemplified by the fact that many of the young adults and children she taught are now successful trainers themselves.

In addition to the Simingtons, Linda has ridden and worked for some of the best known trainers in the industry, including Marcia Williams, and Bernie and Christine Traurig.  Riding for the best trainers meant many years on the road showing multiple horses at the same show. That experience gave Linda the ability to prepare, school, and coach multiple horses and clients without missing a beat.  The experience also made her a speed demon in a golf cart.

Of all the horses Linda showed for other people,  Last Laff will always be her favorite.  Last Laff sealed his position as Linda’s all time favorite jumper when they won the Samsung World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix at Flintridge.  When not winning in the jumper arena, Linda could be found winning open conformation hunters on The Shadow.

Because of her drive to win and an impeccable sense of how to get the best out of any horse, Linda was selected to join Hap Hansen, Dale Harvey and Hugo Simon to represent the United States as part of an international show jumping team.  They competed in Australia against the Australian and New Zealand Olympic teams.

After years of hard work and dedication Linda decided to strike out on her own.  Her clients range from novice riders and green horses to consistent champions in the show ring.  Linda's years of experience training both horses and riders, along with her unique understanding of the horse and rider connection allows her to bring out the best in both.  Linda's upbeat positive attitude permeates everything she does and has allowed her to build a successful and growing business.
